          The main attractions of Shimla

  • Kufri hill station: Also known as " The winter sports capital of Shimla". My favorite part was the fun activities at "Kufri fun world". It has the world's highest go-carting tracks(exciting, isn't it?). moreover, you can try many fun activities like zip-lining, rope climbing, ropeway, paragliding, and many more. Kufri has beautiful scenic views and it becomes more enjoyable on a horseback, or you can take a yak ride.

  • Jakhu temple: This is an ancient temple of Lord Hanuman situated at Jakhu hill. According to Ramayana, Hanuman Ji stopped here to rest while searching for sanjeevni booti to revive Lakshmana. It has a 108ft massive statue of Lord Hanuman which surpasses the 98ft statue of Christ the redeemer. The views were so beautiful and unbelievable.

  • Indian Institute Of Advanced Study(IIAS): This institute was built by Lord Dufferin(viceroy of India). After Independence, it was named "Rashtrapati Bhawan". what attracted me the most are the giant chandelier and the table on which the discussion of the Simla conference took place according to which it was decided to separate Pakistan from India.

IIAS

       Some interesting things in IIAS:

  1.  It has a piano with something unique and special quality in that, its keys are made up of elephant teeth.
  2. Huge chandeliers left me speechless, they were so beautiful that I couldn't take my eyes off.
  3. The unique architecture, the ceilings were made up of walnut tree wood and everything in this institute was brought from different parts of the world like Belgium, Dutch, Kashmir, Germany, etc.
  4. The 185 years old Dutch clock is still working. The clock tells you the time, moon's shape, and date. It only needs winding once a week.
  • Mall road: Mainly famous for shops and cafes. Also do not forget to buy wooden articles from local shops. If you wanna enjoy some music and a pleasant environment the best time is in the evening. No vehicles are allowed there except the emergency vehicles so you could enjoy your moment without any rush.

Army heritage museum: This museum is all about the great Indian warriors and the history of Shimla
Various sections of this museum include:
  1. Uniform of the Indian army
  2. Flags and bands of the army
  3. Past history of Shimla
  4. Army and the nation

These are the major attractions of Shimla although there are many more things to enjoy while you step into this heaven, especially the toy train which passes through 103 tunnels, 864 bridges, and 919 curves. you would only see greeneries and mountains wherever your eyes reach and surely that would make you ponder if you are thrown into a Bollywood scene.
